TAG Evolution Session Convenes Industry Leaders to Discuss CTV Fraud

TAG_060_ESF_Banner_005-01On May 18, TAG held the first Evolution Session of 2022 on CTV Fraud in New York City - the second in a series of such conversations - to bring together key stakeholders from across the industry to discuss challenges and best practices in addressing CTV Fraud.

With attendees spanning top agencies, intermediaries, publishers, and anti-fraud vendors, the Session focused on identifying any gaps in anti-fraud detection and brainstorming additional anti-fraud measures that could be employed in the CTV space.

To kick off the Session, Dave Morgan, CEO of Simulmedia, and Sam Bloom, CEO of Camelot Agency, shared their experience in managing and delivering CTV campaigns.  Both leaders emphasized the importance of first-party data, knowing and vetting your partners, and collaborating with the industry to further standardize CTV measurement, filtration and delivery.

Participants then engaged in a wide-ranging discussion about the challenges of CTV fraud, sharing real-world examples, and offering ideas for improvement of standards and practices. TAG staff is compiling the actionable items and ideas from the event, so key concepts can be brought to the Anti-Fraud Working Group and Brand Safety Working Group in the coming weeks for discussion and consideration.

Please be on the lookout for those sessions to be highlighted in your TAG Working Group Newsletter.  We encourage all members to attend and share their CTV experiences, learnings, and recommendations.

Brand Safety Institute Shares Advice on Navigating Public Tragedies

As another violent tragedy dominates the news in the United States, TAG’s colleagues at the Brand Safety Institute share some valuable advice on how companies can navigate those sensitive issues around brand safety and suitability.

“A Cone Communications study in 2017 showed that 78 percent of Americans ‘believe it’s important for companies to stand up for important social justice issues.’ In fact, 70 percent of Americans said they believe companies have “an obligation” to take action,” notes the blog.

“Those numbers make it clear that corporate social responsibility is a matter of brand safety that goes beyond making sure exclusion lists are up-to-date and realizing that many publishers and platforms have adopted the best practice of pausing ads when tragedy strikes. Americans expect brands to stand up for the social values that are important to the society as a whole.”
